Sense8 Cancelled, Heart Broken

Netflix announced cancellation of Sense8 today. To say I’m shocked would be an understatement. How can a show that has so many important messages for the world be cancelled?

Sense8 is not just a show for many fans. It’s so much more. For those who haven’t seen it, it’s about eight strangers from different parts of the world, and they suddenly become connected. So, although they’re apart, they can still feel what the others are feeling.

But for many of us, it’s more than just a sci-fi adventure. The show is about uniting the diversities of the world. It’s about accepting and loving our uniqueness and our imperfections. It’s about coming together and fighting for what we believe in. It’s about finding humanity and believing in power of love again. This show truly brings the world together.

So what does Netflix do? Cancel it. I have no idea why they would cancel something with such a positive message. I will blame the mighty dollar. I’m sure it’s all about money and blah, blah, blah. Isn’t it usually the case? If you have an opportunity to help impact the world in a positive way, wouldn’t you? It’s a no brainer to me.

Now, the fans get no closure. It’s been robbed from us. The season finale ended in such a way… I can’t even imagine they’d leave us hanging like that. I mean, what the hell!

I have to acknowledge the courageous writers and actors from this show. I know they pushed the limits to get their messages across, and damn, I couldn’t be more proud. Not only is this international cast so talented, but they are fearless. It’s obvious they gave everything they had in this show. So here’s to you, my amazing Sense8 actors who brought us these unforgettable characters.

I can only hope that another network picks this show up very quickly. This show has a very loyal international following. The fans are devastated about this, and I know they’ll do whatever they can to help. Please, can the writers/directors please pitch this show to another network? Remember, be fearless and fight for you believe in.

As far as I’m concerned, “I’m not ready to say goodbye.” I need my closure and a satisfying ending. Wolfgang and Kala didn’t even meet in real life! Nope, I will not accept this.

Many may not understand this, but I become very attached to my characters. If there is no resolution to this, I will have to find my own resolution. I will be writing a fan fiction on this website about what happens to my favorite characters. I have no idea what the amazing writers had in store for the characters (wish I could get inside their heads). But, for now, I’ll have to be satisfied with my own continuation of the story. I simply will not be able to accept the way the show has ended.

Why would I let these characters walk away when Wolfgang is captured and is being tortured? After all, our sensates have a war to fight.
